Membership & Activities

At our 2026 Annual Meeting, we voted to abolish our membership system, to ease the administrative burden on our volunteer board. We thank all former members and encourage everyone, former members and newcomers, to support our work with donations of any size, and to continue to join us at our events, whether free or ticketed. Do sign up for our newsletter and follow us on social media. Thank you - kiitos -tack!

We at Finland Center are proud to support Finnish culture in New York, and also the values we grew up with – women’s empowerment, peace, equality, human rights, education, and sustainable development, to name but a few. We also benefit from getting together to network and help each other navigate life in this fast-paced city.

Please help us do more interesting events and support our ongoing cultural work in the New York area by becoming a volunteer! We are all volunteers and we welcome Finns and friends of Finland regardless of race, ethnicity, language, religion, sexual orientation and whether or not your like rye bread, sauna or salmiakki!

We organize concerts, book readings and panel discussions, sauna outings (to the Russian sauna), picnics with Mölkky, hikes outside the city, or just getting together. If you have an idea for a fun or interesting activity, come do it with us! E-mail us at: info@finlandcenter.org.

Please consider making a donation - you can feel satisfied that you are supporting Finnish culture in New York.
