Ms Horakova will sing songs and arias by Jean Sibelius, Antonin Dvorak, P.I. Tchaikovsky, S.Rachmaninov, Figus Bystry, J.Brahms. K.Weill and L.Bernstein — a concert of Finnish, Czech and Russian music.

Pavlína Horáková is a mezzo-soprano from Prague, Czech Republic. She is currently in her second year of graduate studies at Manhattan School of Music, studying classical voice with Arthur Levy. She first received a Master of Business Administration at the University of Economics in Prague and she also graduated from the Prague Conservatory. At the Prague Conservatory opera studio Ms. Horáková sang the lead role (the Old Maid) in the Czech minimalistic opera, Soudnicky. She has performed in Germany, Belgium, Slovakia and the United States and sang at the European project EMSO 2003 with an international orchestra under the direction of Australian conductor Dr. David Banney. She performed as a soloist with the choir Mladi and Musica Oeconomica Pragensis and also with the orchestra of the University of Economics. She won third prize in the Czech National Vocal Competition. She was chosen to participate on the outreach program at Manhattan School of Music, performing her solo introduction for children in New York City public schools. In addition to a classical repertoire, Pavlína sang for two years with the Czech rock band Checkpoint and released a CD Ruzny svety.
