Finland 100 years Celebrated at the 5K Run

38 Runners showed up for the 6th annual Finland Center 5K Run on Father’s Day, June 18 at Prospect Park. The winner was Zachary Howenstine, and the best woman runner was Emma Larsson. After the race we enjoyed rye sandwiches with cheese. Thanks to all who participated, you helped raise $1200, of which 80% is designated to support the activities of the Kota Alliance, working for gender equality and women’s empowerment (something the Finns can brag about a little!) Emma Larsson at Caffe Vivaldi Emma Larsson returned to Caffe Vivaldi on May 24, this time with pianist Bruce Barth and bassist Bruno Råberg. Along with more or less well known classics such as Alone Together, they performed originals composed by Emma and by Bruce, providing an experience of fresh, creative expression where the lyrics worked extremely well with the music.
